Dip Direction

A practical way to define the direction that a fault is dipping is to describe it relative to its strike. A fault is right-dipping if the dipping direction is to the right of a vector drawn from the fault’s first node toward its last node. The following diagram shows two hypothetical right and left-dipping faults.
